Overview
The First Citizens Mastercard Prepaid Card provides ease of access to conduct various types of local and international transactions such as purchases, bill payments, memberships and subscriptions, and local Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) cash withdrawals. Cardholders will also have the ability to conduct international transactions at Point of Sale (POS) terminals and devices or payment gateways that accept Mastercard.

To qualify, you must:
- Have an active First Citizens Savings or Chequing account for more than one (1) year
- Not be an existing First Citizens credit card holder
Required Documents
Ensure the file size and format are compatible. Uploads must be in any of the following formats: .jpg, .jpeg, .png or .pdf. The file should be 1MB or smaller.

Identification
A form of valid identification –
a. National ID Card, or
b. Passport (mandatory for non-nationals/ non-residents), or
c. Driver’s Permit/ License with birth certificate

Proof of Address
Evidence of your residential address (not older than 6 months) –
a. Utility/ Cable Bill (excluding mobile) If the Utility/ Cable bill is not in your name, provide an Authorization Letter (Bank’s Address Verification Letter) and Photo ID of the bill holder, OR the bill and the following as applicable, where you are the:
Spouse: Marriage Certificate
Tenant: Lease Agreement and Rent Receipt (not older than 6 months) OR
b. Financial Statement

Proof of Income
Evidence of your income/ source of deposit –
a. Pay Slip (not older than 1 month) or
b. Job Letter (not older than 3 months)

Activating your Mastercard Prepaid Card
Your Prepaid Card must be activated before use. Activation is easy via the First Citizens Mobile App and can be done in two simple steps.
Link your Mastercard Prepaid Card to the Mobile App
- Log into the mobile app, tap on dashboard icon and select ‘Settings’
- Select ‘Manage Accounts’ and choose the card number (only the last four (4) digits of the card number will be displayed)
- Enable the account by selecting the slider icon to the right, ensuring that it turns green then tap update
Activate the Card:
- Tap on dashboard icon , select ‘Cards’ and choose the Mastercard Prepaid
- Select ‘Services’ and tap on ‘Activate’
- A screen will then appear to enter a One Time Password (OTP) which will be sent via SMS to your mobile number registered with us
- Once the OTP is entered correctly and validated, your screen will read ‘It’s done’ indicating that your card was successfully activated.
