Application Processing
What happens if all my documents are not uploaded or are outdated?
All documents are required to process your application and must be uploaded to the portal.
If not submitted, your application will be cancelled and you will be required to reapply when all documents are available.
You will be advised of the cancellation via email within 48 hours of the submitted application.
How long does it take to process a Mastercard Prepaid Application?
Once all your documents are uploaded as required, the application process can take up to three (3) business days to be completed. Thereafter, you card will be sent to TTPOST for direct delivery.
How will I receive my Mastercard Prepaid?
Your Prepaid Mastercard will be delivered via TTPOST to the mailing address stated in your application.
Card Usage
Does the Mastercard Prepaid come with a PIN (Personal Identification Number)?
Yes, the Mastercard Prepaid and PIN are provided in your TTPOST package.
When can I access funds loaded onto my First Citizens Mastercard Prepaid?
Funds loaded onto the First Citizens Mastercard Prepaid will be available as detailed below:
- Monday to Thursday: Loads/reloads made by 3pm will be processed on the same night. Load/reloads made after 3pm will be processed on the night of the next working day. Funds will be accessible thereafter.
- Friday: Loads/reloads made by 4.15pm will be processed on the same night. Load/reloads made after 4.15pm will be processed on the night of the next working day. Funds will be accessible thereafter.
- Weekends and Public Holidays: Loads/reloads will be processed on the night of the next working day. Funds will be accessible thereafter.
- Other local banks cheques will be placed on hold in accordance with normal banking practices.
Can I transfer funds that I loaded onto my Mastercard Prepaid back to my First Citizens deposit account?
No, funds loaded onto the card cannot be transferred back to your First Citizens account via our Online or Mobile Banking platforms, however cash withdrawals or cash advances can be done via ATM or Over the Counter respectively. The following are the associated fees:
- Local ATM withdrawals – TTD 7.00
- Cash Advance Fee – 3% of the transaction amount for over-the-counter withdrawals.

How can I obtain information on transactions done on my First Citizens Mastercard Prepaid?
You can obtain a transaction history for posted transactions via:
- First Citizens Online Banking
- First Citizens Mobile Banking App
- First Citizens Telebanking
How long is a First Citizens Mastercard Prepaid valid for?
The Mastercard Prepaid is valid for five (5) years, unless the card has been stolen or destroyed.
Loading and Spending Limits
Is there a limit in terms of how much I can load/reload?
Funds can be loaded/reloaded to your Mastercard Prepaid up to a maximum of five (5) times per day and up to a maximum value of TTD 3,000.00 daily.
Is there a limit in terms of how much I can spend per day?
Yes, the conditions below apply:
- The maximum amount of local spend is TTD 3,000.00
- The maximum number of purchases is 20
- The maximum number of ATM cash withdrawals is 3 and up to a maximum of TTD 600.00 (approx. USD 100.00)
- The maximum monthly USD spend is USD 400.00, inclusive of all online purchases, memberships, subscriptions and overseas Point of Sale (POS) transactions.
Does my available/unused USD spend rollover?
No. The allocated USD spend is available per calendar month and renews at the start of each month.
Is there a minimum balance that should be left on the card?
There is no minimum balance to be maintained on the card.
Will my Mastercard Prepaid be declined if I go over the card’s available spend or daily limit?
Yes, your transaction will be declined if you do not have sufficient funds to complete the transaction or if you attempt to exceed the card’s daily limit.
Can I use my Mastercard Prepaid to pay bills or make purchases online?
Yes, similar to a credit card, your Mastercard Prepaid can be used to pay bills and make online purchases.
Can I use my Mastercard Prepaid for cash withdrawals at an ATM?
Yes, your Mastercard Prepaid can be used to deposit and withdraw cash at any local ATM only.
Lost, Stolen or Compromised Card
What do I do if my First Citizens Mastercard Prepaid is lost or stolen?
The following options are available to you if this occurs:
- Option 1 – Mobile Banking Application
Immediately access our Mobile Banking App to ‘Hotlist’ or ‘Block’ your card.
With the following steps:
- Click on the “Dashboard” icon located on the top right corner of your screen
- Select “Cards”
- The CREDIT option located to the top of your screen is highlighted by default and all cards are displayed
- Select the card number in question (only the last 4 digits are displayed)
- Select ‘Services’
- Select the ‘Hotlist’ or ‘Block’ option.
The ‘Block’ function – this temporarily restricts card activity if you are unable to locate it or if you suspect that your card may have been compromised. Repeat these steps to ‘Unblock’ the card via the application once you feel it is safe to do so.
The ‘Hotlist’ function – this permanently restricts card activity if you are certain that your card is lost or if your card was stolen or has been compromised. Following this, do request a card replacement card via either Online Banking or the Mobile Banking Application; a card reissuance fee of TTD 70.00 is applied in addition to the TTPOST delivery fee of TTD 35.00.

- Option 2 – WhatsApp
Send a WhatsApp message to 774-CARD (2273). You will be prompted to provide your details, following which a representative will contact you.
NB: This WhatsApp line is dedicated to lost, stolen or compromised cards only.
- Option 3 – International Users
If you are abroad, you can:
- Report the incident to the Mastercard Global Service (MGS). If in the USA and Canada you may contact MGS toll free at 1-800-307-7309. In other countries, you may call collect at 1-636-722-7111.
It is recommended that you store these numbers safely e.g. on your mobile phone for easy retrieval in the event your card is lost or stolen.
I think my Mastercard Prepaid may have been compromised; I do not recognize a purchase. What should I do?
If you notice an unauthorised transaction, you have the ability to block (immediate temporary restriction) or hotlist (immediate permanent restriction) your card via the First Citizens Mobile Banking Application.
To disable your Credit Card, simply follow the steps outlined below:
- Click on the “Dashboard” icon located on the top right corner of your screen
- Select the “Cards” feature
- Select the card type (credit card) located to the top of your screen
