Press Release

9 Queen’s Park East, Port of Spain 25th February, 2022: First Citizens Supernovas Steel Orchestra led off Pan Trinbago’s viewing of the Large Bands on Wednesday 23rd February 2022 at their pan yard in Surrey Village, Lopinot. The young and energetic band filled the hills of Surrey with its presentation of “You’ve Got a Friend” by Carole King and “Out and Bad” by Aaron “Voice” St. Louis, in an arrangement by Band Leader – Amrit Samaroo, on pans tuned by Desmond “Mappo” Richardson and Bertram “Birch” Kelman.

First Citizens has been the title sponsor of the Supernovas Steel Orchestra since 2016 aiding their movement from the small to large band category in Panorama. The Band will join other top medium and large bands on Saturday 26th February 2022 at the highly anticipated National Pan Event at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain. The First Citizens Group is therefore pleased to have the First Citizens Supernovas Steel Orchestra as a main feature in the revival of pan on the “Big Stage”.
