First Citizens Hosts its Third Annual Meeting of Shareholders

On Tuesday, April 8, 2025 First Citizens Group Financial Holdings Limited (FCGFH), the parent company of the First Citizens Group of companies, hosted its Third Annual Meeting of Shareholders at the National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA), Port of Spain. This in-person meeting was chaired by the Group’s Chairman – Mr. Anthony Isidore Smart with a presentation delivered to Shareholders by the Group CEO – Ms. Karen Darbasie.
On the agenda for the meeting were the voting on the resolutions to re-elect Directors, to receive and adopt the Audited Financial Statements and the Report of the Directors and Auditors thereon for the financial year that ended on September 30, 2024 and to re-elect PricewaterhouseCoopers as FCGFH’s Auditors. FCGFH is pleased to report that all resolutions were approved by shareholders.
Re-elected to FCGFH’s Board were: Mr. Anthony Isidore Smart, SC – Chairman, First Citizens along with Directors: Mr. Courtenay B. Williams, Mrs. Savitree Seepersad, Mr. Idrees Omardeen, Ms. Jayselle McFarlane, Mr. Troy Garcia and Mr. Colin Wharfe; who will continue to bring their expertise and leadership to guide the organisation for the next term ahead.
At the meeting the Group CEO – Ms. Karen Darbasie advised that, effective March 21, 2025, the shares of the remaining subsidiaries of First Citizens Bank Limited (the Bank) were transferred from the Bank to FCGFH; the subsidiaries are:
- First Citizens Financial Services (St. Lucia) Limited (FCFSSL); and
- FCCR First Citizens Costa Rica S.A. (FCCR)
Ms. Darbasie also provided valuable insights into the Group’s performance and strategic direction, outlining the organisation’s approach to better serve customers and continue to positively impact communities. Ms. Darbasie stated: “I am pleased to report to our Shareholders the Group’s profitability, progress and projections as a result of the dedication and hard work of my First Citizens Team.”
