First Citizens advises that we are currently aware of and actively addressing a smishing incident related to a fraudulent site purporting to be that of our legitimate First Citizens website – www.firstcitizensgroup.com.
Customers are encouraged to pay close attention ensuring that the site to which you are logged in includes the padlock icon 🔒 and HTTPS:// in the web address. This ensures that your connection is encrypted and helps keep your data safe. If you don’t see these security features, do not enter your personal or financial information.
The privacy and security of customers’ information remain a key priority for the Group, and we wish to reassure all customers that our First Citizens website remains accessible and secure. However, out of abundance of caution for the safety of our customers’ data and privacy, heightened monitoring has been implemented.
Customers are reminded to remain vigilant and if you receive a suspicious message, do not engage with it and report to the bank immediately.
