To activate your new Visa debit card, you can do either of the following using your existing PIN:

Q1: How do I know when my Visa debit card expires?

You can refer to the “Good Thru” date printed on the front of your debit card. For example 01/24, this means you can use your debit card until January 31, 2024.

Q2: When can I expect my renewed Visa debit card?

You can expect your renewed Visa debit card one (1) month prior to the expiry date on your card.

Q3: Do I need to visit the Branch to apply for a new Visa debit card?

Your renewed Visa debit card will be directly delivered to your mailing address on file with First Citizens via the Trinidad and Tobago Postal Corporation (TTPOST).

Q4: Can my renewed Visa debit card(s) be sent to an address overseas?

Your renewed debit card(s) will only be delivered to mailing addresses within Trinidad and Tobago.

 Q5: Can I activate my renewed card upon receipt if my current card is still valid?

Yes, you can activate your renewed Visa debit card immediately upon receipt.

Q6: Will my existing Personal Identification Number (PIN) still be valid?

Your existing PIN will still be valid with your renewed debit card.

Q7: How can I activate my renewed Visa debit card?

To activate your new Visa debit card, you can do either of the following using your existing PIN:

  • Make a point-of-sale purchase at any local merchant

    OR
  • An ATM transaction at a conveniently located First Citizens ATM

Q8: What happens to my existing Visa debit card when the renewed card is activated?

Once you start using your new debit card, your old card is deactivated.

Q9: What happens if I do not activate my renewed Visa Debit Card?

Your old debit card will expire as per the expiration date and you will no longer be able to use that card. To ensure a seamless purchase experience, please destroy your old debit card by cutting or shredding it.

Q10: Will I need to activate my VISA debit card before I can use it?

Yes. You are required to activate your Visa debit card before you can use it

Q.11 Will my First Citizens bank accounts be linked to my renewed Visa debit card?

Yes, you will continue to access your bank account(s) linked to your renewed Visa debit card.

Q12: Are there any fees or charges for my renewed debit card?

At this time, your renewed debit card is free of charge.

Q13: Can I easily track the delivery status of my renewed card?

Yes, an SMS or email will be sent when your card is dispatched containing the tracking number. You can easily track your renewed debit card by using the TTPOST tracking portal via their website.

Q14: If I received a notification but did not receive my renewed debit card, what can I do?

You should log into First Citizens Online Banking and send a Secure Message for assistance.

 Q15: What should I do if my renewed Visa debit card is lost, stolen or compromised?

You should immediately disable your debit card and request a replacement, both done via the First Citizens Mobile App. 

Q16: What if my new VISA debit card is not working?

If your new VISA debit card is not working, contact our Card Centre via Secure Message or our Contact Centre via 62-First.
